The 1978 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 90th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The championship began on 6 April 1978 and ended on 22 October 1978. St. Finbarr's entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Glen Rovers in the semi-finals. Bandon's Pádraig Crowley was the championship's top scorer with 1-25.
