Jan Karel, Baron van Goltstein (30 May 1794, Arnhem – 17 February 1872, The Hague) was a Dutch lawyer and independent politician. He became a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands in 1840. He was president of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands twice in the periods 19 February 1849 - 20 August 1850 and 19 September 1856 - 11 March 1858. From 5 March 1858 to 23 February 1860 he was the foreign minister in the Rochussen cabinet. Afterwards he was a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for another 9 years and a member of the senate for 1.5 years.

  • Jan Karel Baron van Goltstein (* 30. Mai 1794 in Arnheim; † 17. Februar 1872 in Den Haag) war ein niederländischer Rechtsanwalt und parteiloser Politiker. Vom 5. März 1858 bis 23. Februar 1860 war er Außenminister im Kabinett Rochussen. Van Goltstein studierte an der Utrechter Universität Rechtswissenschaften. 1811 ließ er sich ebendort als Rechtsanwalt nieder. Am 28. September 1828 heiratete er die Baroness Adolphine Wernerdine van Pallandt. Die Ehe blieb kinderlos. Sein Vorgänger im Amt des Außenministers war ; sein Nachfolger Floris Adriaan van Hall. (de)

Hij was aanvankelijk werkzaam bij het Hoog Militair Gerechtshof en werd in 1840 Tweede Kamerlid. Hij was toen voorstander van staatkundige hervormingen. In 1849 werd hij als gematigd liberaal voorzitter van de eerste op basis van algemeen kiesrecht gekozen Tweede Kamer. Hij was deskundig op het gebied van het internationale recht en minister van Buitenlandse Zaken in het gemengd liberaal-conservatieve Kabinet-Rochussen. Na zijn ministerschap nog negen jaar Tweede Kamerlid en anderhalf jaar senator. Hij was een broer van Hendrik Rudolph Willem van Goltstein van Oldenaller en oom van Willem van Goltstein van Oldenaller, die eveneens politicus ware (nl)
