Il prototipo fu collaudato nel luglio-agosto 1918 e fu giocoforza rinunciare all'armamento, rivelatosi eccessivo per la struttura del veicolo e scambiato con una mitragliatrice leggera MG 08/15. Le successive modifiche e sistemazioni rallentarono l'immissione in servizio, che avvenne solo in ottobre e, probabilmente, solo con un paio di esemplari che l'Esercito imperiale tedesco non utilizz\u00F2 mai.
