Les impacts sur les \u00E9cosyst\u00E8mes comprennent la migration ou l'extinction de nombreuses esp\u00E8ces \u00E0 mesure que leur environnement change, en particulier dans les r\u00E9cifs coralliens, les montagnes et l'Arctique. Ces impacts ont conduit l'Organisation mondiale de la sant\u00E9 \u00E0 appeler le changement climatique \u00AB la plus grande menace pour la sant\u00E9 mondiale \u00BB au XXIe si\u00E8cle. M\u00EAme si les efforts visant \u00E0 minimiser le r\u00E9chauffement futur sont couronn\u00E9s de succ\u00E8s, certains effets se poursuivront pendant des si\u00E8cles, notamment l'\u00E9l\u00E9vation du niveau de la mer, la hausse des temp\u00E9ratures des oc\u00E9ans et l'acidification des oc\u00E9ans. Nombre de ces impacts se font d\u00E9j\u00E0 sentir au niveau actuel de r\u00E9chauffement, qui est de plus de 1,2 \u00B0C en moyenne au niveau mondial. Le Groupe d'experts intergouvernemental sur l'\u00E9volution du climat (GIEC) a publi\u00E9 une s\u00E9rie de rapports qui pr\u00E9voient une augmentation significative de ces impacts quand le r\u00E9chauffement mondial d\u00E9passera 1,5 \u00B0C et encore bien plus importante s'il atteint 2 \u00B0C.
