Carlos Solórzano Fernández (May 6, 1919 – March 30, 2011) was a Guatemalan-born Mexican playwright. He is considered one of the most important playwrights in Guatemalan history. His contribution to the theater in Latin America range from his plays to articles in theater journals and encyclopedias, and essays related to the history and anthology of Latin theater. Carlos Solórzano escritor y dramaturgo guatemalteco, naturalizado mexicano, nacido el 1 de mayo de 1919 en la ciudad de San Marcos (Guatemala), fallecido el 30 de marzo de 2011 en la ciudad de México, donde residía desde 1939. Estuvo casado con la escultora mexicana Beatriz Caso Lombardo, a quien conoció cuando estudiaba Psicología en un instituto privado el cual pagaba con ingresos que ganaba en una multinacional. Su bisabuelo, Justo Rufino Barrios, fue presidente de República de Guatemala (1873-1885).
