Ganó diez medallas en el Campeonato Mundial de Piragüismo entre los años 1990 y 1999.​​ Participó en los Juegos Olímpicos de Seúl 1988, Atlanta 1996 y Sídney 2000, obteniendo la quinta posición en los tres Juegos Olímpicos que disputó (1988: C2 500 m, 1996: C1 500 m, 2000: C2 500 m).​ Thomas Zereske, född den 22 maj 1966 i Neubrandenburg, Tyskland, död 28 juni 2004 i Neubrandenburg, var en östtysk och därefter tysk kanotist.
