- The Ohio Valley Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual basketball award given to the Ohio Valley Conference's (OVC) most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1962–63 season. Fifteen players in OVC history have claimed more than one player of the year award, the most recent of whom was Terry Taylor in 2020 and 2021. Among the repeat winners, only one—Clem Haskins of Western Kentucky—has been a three-time player of the year. Haskins achieved the feat from 1965 through 1967. Both of the schools with the most awards left the OVC in 2022. Murray State, which has dominated the award's selection, with its players having received the award 21 times (equal to the total of the next three programs on the list), joined the Missouri Valley Conference. Награда была учреждена и впервые вручена из в сезоне 1962/63 годов. Конференция официально начала свою деятельность в 1948 году, и тогда в неё входило шесть команд, в 1949 году в неё включили ещё две команды, и одна команда покинула конференцию, в 1952 году её ряды пополнила ещё одна команда, и две покинули её, в 1957 году их число увеличилось до семи. С течением времени, при образовании новых университетов, количество команд в конференции увеличилось до восьми (на данный момент их двенадцать). В 2003 году в её состав вошли команды и , но в 2008 году последняя была переведена в Южную конференцию. В том же году в конференцию была включена команда , а 2012 году — команда . Четырнадцать игроков, , Джим Макдэниелс, , , , , , , , Маркус Браун, , Кеннет Фарид, Айзея Канаан и , получали этот приз по несколько раз, причём только Хаскинс получал его три раза.
