Tot i que és una cançó tradicional catalana ha tingut ressò en altres països d'Europa, com França. Per aquest motiu n'existeixen altres versions. És universalment coneguda com la primera part de les Cançons Populars Catalanes de Miquel Llobet. L'arranjament en re menor de Llobet s'ha convertit en la versió clàssica acceptada per a aquesta peça. Ha estat enregistrada per Llobet i una munió de guitarristes de renom. (ca)

It tells the story of a young lady in her deathbed who knowingly drank the poisoned drink given to her by her stepmother, whom she knows has been sleeping with her husband. It is commonly known as the first part of Miguel Llobet's Canciones Populares Catalanas. Llobet's D minor arrangement has become the accepted classic version for this piece. It has been recorded by Llobet, Andrés Segovia, John Williams, Julian Bream, Pepe Romero, David Russell, , , Stefano Grondona and many others.
