- Die Thissavros-Talsperre (Nestos-Stausee; griechisch: Φράγμα Θησαυρού, Techniti Limni Nestou/Thissavrou) ist eine von mehreren Talsperren am Nestos (Mesta) im Nordosten Griechenlands in der Nähe der bulgarischen Grenze. Der aus Bulgarien kommende Nestos wird auf griechischer Seite an den Sperrstellen Thissavros, Platanovryssi, zukünftig Temenos und Toxotes zur Nutzung des Wasserkraftpotentials und für Bewässerungszwecke viermal aufgestaut. Die Stauhöhen sind 172 m, 95 m, 45 m und 4 m. Die Talsperre Thissavros ist die erste in der Kaskade. Sie liegt etwa 12 km oberhalb der Platanovryssi-Talsperre und 18 km oberhalb der zukünftigen Temenos-Talsperre.Sie fungiert auch als Pumpspeicherwerk, dessen unteres Becken das Staubecken Platanovryssi (Stauraum: 63 Mio. m³) ist. Der Staudamm besteht aus Felsschüttmaterial mit einem zentralen Dichtungskern aus Lehm. Das Wasserkraftwerk verfügt über drei Turbinen in einer Kaverne. Jede hat eine Leistungsfähigkeit von 128 MW, zusammen 384 MW. Damit werden pro Jahr 440 Mio. kWh Strom erzeugt.Die hydraulische Fallhöhe beträgt 141 m. (de)

Κατασκευάστηκε μεταξύ του 1986 και του 1996. Ο σκοπός του φράγματος είναι η άρδευση και η παραγωγή υδροηλεκτρικής ενέργειας. Οι δεξαμενές του βοηθούν στην άρδευση 200.000 στρεμμάτων και ο ηλεκτροπαραγωγός σταθμός του έχει εγκατεστημένη χωρητικότητα 384 μεγαβάτ. Ο ηλεκτροπαραγωγός σταθμός είναι υδροηλεκτρικού υδραντλητικού τύπου που επιτρέπει όχι μόνο την παραγωγή ενέργειας, αλλά οι στρόβιλοι μπορούν να αντιστρέψουν και να αντλήσουν νερό πίσω στη δεξαμενή. - The Thisavros Dam (Greek: Φράγμα Θησαυρού) is a rock-fill dam on the Nestos River in the regional unit of Drama in the northeastern portion of Greece. it is 21 kilometres (13 mi) north of Nikiforos and 21 kilometres (13 mi) northeast of the town of Drama. The 172-metre (564 ft) high dam is the tallest in Greece. It was constructed between 1986 and 1996. The purpose of the dam is irrigation and hydroelectric power production. Its reservoirs helps irrigate 80,937 hectares (200,000 acres) and its power station has an installed capacity of 384 megawatts (515,000 hp). The power station is a pumped-storage type which allows it to not only generate power but the turbines can reverse and pump water back into the reservoir. Power generation occurs during periods of high demand and pumping during those of low demand such as at night. (en)
