- La dentition thécodonte est un arrangement morphologique dans lequel la base de la dent est complètement enfermée dans une alvéole osseuse profonde, comme on le voit chez les crocodiliens, les dinosaures et les mammifères, et opposée à la dentition acrodonte et leurodonte vue chez les reptiles squamates. Notamment, cela semble être la condition dentaire ancestrale des amniotes. Cette morphologie était autrefois utilisée comme base pour le groupe taxonomique aujourd'hui disparu des Thecodontia. (fr)
- Thecodont dentition is a morphological arrangement in which the base of the tooth is completely enclosed in a deep socket of bone, as seen in crocodilians, dinosaurs and mammals, and opposed to acrodont and pleurodont dentition seen in squamate reptiles. Notably, this appears to be the ancestral tooth condition in Amniota. This morphology was once used as a basis for the now-defunct taxonomic group Thecodontia. (en)
