- Sedge Island (span. Name Isla Culebra) ist eine Insel der westlichen Falklandinseln und befindet sich östlich der Jason Islands bzw. nordwestlich von Saunders Island. Das flache Eiland ist von Wiesen, Tussock und den namensgebenden Sauergrasgewächsen (engl. Sedge) geprägt. Ab 1978 wurden auf der Insel durch Siedler mehrere Gebäude errichtet und mit der wenig erfolgreichen Schafzucht begonnen. (de)
- La isla Culebra (en inglés: Sedge Island) es una de las islas del archipiélago de las islas Malvinas. Se encuentra al norte de la isla Gran Malvina, al este de las islas Sebaldes, al noreste de la isla del Rosario, y al noroeste de la isla Trinidad. Es un isla de baja altitud y se encuentra cubierta de pastos y arbustos. Los extremos oriental y occidental de este accidente geográfico son dos de los puntos que determinan las líneas de base de la República Argentina, a partir de las cuales se miden los espacios marítimos que rodean al archipiélago. La isla es administrada por el Reino Unido como parte del territorio de ultramar de las Islas Malvinas y es reivindicada por la República Argentina, que la hace parte del departamento Islas del Atlántico Sur dentro de la provincia de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur. - Sedge Island (Spanish: Isla Culebra) is one of the Falkland archipelago. Something of an outlier, it is due north of the large island of West Falkland and to the east of the Jason Islands. It is north east of Carcass Island and north west of Saunders Island. It is low-lying and covered in grass and tussock, including the sedges which give it its name. In 1978, Sedge Island was owned by Walter "Wally" McBeth, who tried to settle there with his wife and two daughters. He planned to build a small airstrip for FIGAS but this did not happen. He did however set up an unsuccessful sheep farm, first with a hut that he floated onto the island, and then a prefabricated house, which has three bedrooms. In 1985, it was acquired by David Hawksworth, who has owned it ever since. (en)
