- Els Premis Rhysling són un premi anual atorgat al millor poema de ciència-ficció, fantasia o terror de l'any. A diferència de la majoria dels premis literaris, que porten el nom del creador del premi, el tema del premi, o un membre destacat del camp, els Rhyslings porten el nom d'un personatge en una història de ciència-ficció: el poeta cec Rhysling, a la història curta de Robert A. Heinlein . El premi es lliura en dues categories: "Millor poema llarg", per a obres de 50 o més línies, i "Millor poema curt", per a obres de 49 o menys línies. Els nominats als premis Rhysling de cada any són elegits pels membres de la (SFPA). Cada membre pot nomenar un treball per a cadascuna de les categories. Die Mitglieder der Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA) nominieren jeweils ein kurzes Gedicht (short poem) und ein langes Gedicht (long poem; mindestens 50 Verse). Die nominierten Gedichte werden dann in der Anthologie The Rhysling Anthology gesammelt und die Mitglieder stimmen über die Gewinner in den beiden Kategorien ab. Bei Stimmengleichstand kann auch mehrfach vergeben werden. Um nominiert zu werden, muss ein Gedicht im vergangenen Jahr veröffentlicht worden sein. Außerdem wurden in einigen Jahren Autoren für ihr Lebenswerk als Grand master poet ausgezeichnet. Der Preis wird seit 2005 im Juli auf der Readercon in Burlington, Massachusetts, verliehen. Der Name des Preises bezieht sich auf den fiktiven Dichter Rhysling in Robert A. Heinleins Kurzgeschichte Die grünen Hügel der Erde. Für sehr kurze Gedichte von bis zu 10 Versen wird von der SFPA seit 2006 der Dwarf Stars Award verliehen. (de)
- The Rhysling Awards are an annual award given for the best science fiction, fantasy, or horror poem of the year. Unlike most literary awards, which are named for the creator of the award, the subject of the award, or a noted member of the field, the Rhyslings are named for a character in a science fiction story: the blind poet Rhysling, in Robert A. Heinlein's short story "The Green Hills of Earth". The award is given in two categories: "Best Long Poem", for works of 50 or more lines, and "Best Short Poem", for works of 49 or fewer lines. The nominees for each year's Rhysling Awards are chosen by the members of the Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA). Each member may nominate one work for each of the categories. The nominated works are then compiled into an anthology called , and members of the Association then vote on the final winners. From 2005 to 2011, the Awards were presented in July at a ceremony at Readercon.
