- The longest word in Hebrew is the 19-letter-long וּכְשֶׁלְּאֶנְצִיקְלוֹפֶּדְיוֹתֵינוּ (ūḵšelləʾenṣīqlōpedəyōtēnū), meaning "and when to our encyclopedias..." (וּכְשֶׁ לְאֶנְצִיקְלוֹפֶּדְיוֹתֵינוּ, ū-ḵəš lə-ʾenṣīqlōpedəyōtēnū). The Hebrew word "אנציקלופדיה" [int͡siklopédia] (encyclopedia) is of a European origin. The longest word in Hebrew that doesn't originate from another language is "וכשלהתמרמרויותינו," (u'lechshetitmarmerna) which roughly means "And when, to our resentments/ grievances". The 11-letter-long (including vowels) וְהָאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנִים (veha'aḥashdarpením) is the longest word to appear in the Hebrew Bible. Its meaning is "And the satraps". It isn't of Hebrew etymological origin. Another such word "וכשבהשתעשעויותיהם" (u'chshebehishta'ashuateyhem) meaning: "And when they were having fun" or "And while in their playfulness" is also one of the longest. (en)
