Jamil Al-Hejailan is a Saudi diplomat, who served as secretary general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) from 1996 to 2002. He was born in Buraidah, AlQasim region in 1927. He was the ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Germany, Kuwait, and France for 20 years. He served as the first ambassador in history of Kuwait. He brought the first television network to Saudi Arabia. Al-Hejailan was also the first Minister of Information and Broadcasting in the History of Saudi Arabia.
