- Hans Heinrich Bürmann (died 21 June 1817, in Mannheim) was a German mathematician and teacher. He ran an "academy of commerce" in Mannheim since 1795 where he used to teach mathematics. He also served as a censor in Mannheim. He was nominated Headmaster of the Commerce Academy of the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1811. He did scientific research in the area of combinatorics and he contributed to the development of the symbolic language of mathematics. He discovered the generalized form of the Lagrange inversion theorem. He corresponded and published with Joseph Louis Lagrange and Carl Hindenburg. (en)

Dirigiu a partir de 1795 uma "Academia de Comércio" em Mannheim, na qual lecionou aritmética, contabilidade, correspondência comercial, lei de letras de câmbio, mercadorias, alemão, francês, italiano e inglês. Suas condições de vida eram difíceis, e não foi até setembro de 1808 que ele recebeu um salário de 1000 florins "como Diretor Grão-Ducal da Academia Comercial de Baden, Professor de Matemática e Censor". Trabalhou cientificamente no campo da combinatória e contribuiu para o desenvolvimento da linguagem simbólica da matemática. Descobriu a forma generalizada do e manteve correspondência com Joseph-Louis Lagrange e Carl Friedrich Hindenburg. (pt)
