- Trichophaga tapetzella, l'arna de les catifes o de les estores, és una arna de la família Tineidae. N'hi ha a tot el món. Té una envergadura de 14 a 18 mm. El cap és blanc, les ales anteriors de color blanc ocre, finament estriades de gris; basal 2/5 de porprat brunenc fosc; una taca discal posterior rodona de color gris; unes taquetes negres al voltant de l'àpex. Ales posteriors de color gris llautó clar. Aletes posteriors de color gris llautó clar. L'arna vola de juny a setembre segons el lloc. Les larves s'alimenten de pell animal, nius d'ocell, pilotetes, pell, cobriments de roba i mobles fets de pell animal. Les arnes de les catifes acaben llurs cicle en un any i se semblen més a les arnes de la roba, perquè tixen en les zones on els agrada de viure. Llur velocitat de desenvolupament depèn enterament de la temperatura, la humiditat i la disponibilitat alimentària locals. (ca)
- Trichophaga tapetzella, the tapestry moth or carpet moth, is a moth of the family Tineidae. It is found worldwide. The wingspan is 14–18 mm. The head is white, the forewingsochreous-white, thinly strigulated with grey; basal 2/5 dark purplish-fuscous; a roundish grey posterior discal spot; some small black spots about apex. Hindwings light brassy-grey. The moth flies from June to September depending on the location. The larvae feed on animal skin, bird nests, pellets, fur, clothing and floor and furniture covering made of animal skin. Tapestry moths complete their cycles within a year and are more like webbing clothes moths in that they spin webbing in areas where they like to reside. Their speed of development depends entirely upon local temperature, humidity and food supplies. (en)
