- Die Sprache Ayu (auch aya genannt; ISO 639-3: ayu) ist eine stark vom Aussterben bedrohte platoide Sprache aus der Sprachgruppe der Plateau-Sprachen, die von insgesamt 800 Personen aus der Volksgruppe der im nigerianischen Bundesstaat Kaduna gesprochen wird. Ayu wird noch in den Ortschaften Kongon, Gwade, Tayu, Arau, Diger, Ikwa, Agamati, Anka Ambel und Amantu gesprochen. - Ayu is a minor and endangered Plateau language of Kaduna State, northern Nigeria. Its subsequent classification is uncertain, but it may be one of the Ninzic languages (Blench 2008). It is not being passed on to many children. Ethnologue (22nd ed.) lists Ayu locations as Agamati, Amantu, Ambel, Anka, Arau, Digel, Gwade, Ikwa, Kongon, and Tayu villages in Sanga, Nigeria. (en)
