- عبد الرحمان الثعالبي مفسر وفقيه مالكي صوفي وفقيه ومتكلم على طريقة أهل السنة من الأشاعرة. ولد بالجزائر موطن آبائه وأجداده الثعالبة، وهو أحد أعلام الأشاعرة المالكية في القرن التاسع الهجري. وقد صار رمزا لمدينة الجزائر التي أضحت تعرف بمدينة سيدي عبد الرحمان. (ar)
- Abdul-Rahman al-Tha'alibi (Arabic: أبو زيد عـبـد الـرحـمـن بن مـخـلـوف الـثـعـالـبـي, romanized: Abū Zayd ‘Abd al-Raḥmān ibn Makhlūf ath-Tha‘ālibī) (1384 CE/785 AH – 1479 CE/875 AH), was an Arab Scholar, Imam and Sufi wali. He was born near the town of Isser 86 km south east of Algiers. He was raised in a very spiritual environment with high Islamic values and ethics. He had great interpersonal skills and devoted his entire life in service of the most deprived, to dhikr of Allah, and to writing of over 100 books and treatises. He has become a symbol of Algiers, which has become known as the "city of sidi Abder Rahman." (en)
- Sidi Abderrahmane At-Thaâlibi (arabe : سيدي عبد الرحمان الثعالبي), de son vrai nom Abou Zaid Abderrahmane Ben Makhlouf al-Thalibi– de la tribu arabe des Thaâlba, né en 1384 dans le village Thaälba situé sur la rive des Issers, en Kabylie, est un penseur et théologien musulman d’Afrique du Nord, saint patron de la ville d’Alger. Il côtoya les plus grands docteurs de son temps comme Abi Zeyd el Waghlissi, Abu Kassam el Mashdalî, Abi Kassem el Boughzalî, Mohamed ibn Khalf el Oubay, durant ses nombreux voyages d’études en Orient avant de revenir s’installer en 1414 à Alger, où on lui confia la magistrature (Cadi) suprême de la ville. Fondateur de l’école Thaalibiya, où divers enseignements étaient prodigués (histoire, littérature, soufisme, doctrines, interprétation…), Sidi Abderrahmane, auteur de plus de 90 ouvrages. (fr)
