Nusaybin (pronounced [nuˈsajbin]; Kurdish: Nisêbîn; Arabic: نُصَيْبِيْن, romanized: Nuṣaybīn; Syriac: ܢܨܝܒܝܢ, romanized: Nṣībīn), historically known as Nisibis (Greek: Νίσιβις, translit. Nísibis) or Nesbin, is a city in Mardin Province, Turkey. The population of the city is 83,832 as of 2009 and is predominantly Kurdish. Nusaybin is separated from the larger Kurdish-majority city of Qamishli by the Syria–Turkey border.
