Demographic features of the population of North Macedonia include population density, ethnicity, education level, health of the populace, economic status, religious affiliations and other aspects of the population. The latest population census was held in 2002 due to ethnic issues between Albanians and Macedonians, therefore demographic information may be unreliable as it is based on estimates. According to Apostol Simovski, the director of the State Statistical Office, the population of North Macedonia is around 1.5 million.
