Bangladesh–India relations, (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ-ভারত সম্পর্ক; Hindi: बांग्लादेश-भारत संबंध) also referred to as Bangladeshi-Indian relations or Indo-Bangladeshi relations, are the bilateral relations between the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Republic of India, both of which are South Asian neighbours. Diplomatic relations between the two countries formally began in 1971 with India's recognition of an independent Bangladesh (which was formerly known as East Pakistan).
