The Constitution of Medina (دستور المدينة, Dustūr al-Madīna), also known as the Charter of Medina (Arabic: صحيفة المدينة, Ṣaḥīfat al-Madīnah; or: ميثاق المدينة, Mīthāq al-Madina "Covenant of Medina"), is the modern name given to a document believed to have been written in 622-624 CE. However, no copy of the document has ever been found, and there is no mention of the existence of any such document until the early 800s CE. The constitution formed the basis of a multi-religious Islamic state in Medina.
