Woljeongsa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, located on the eastern slopes of Odaesan in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea. Woljeongsa was founded in 643 by the Silla monk Jajang.

Il a été fondé en 643 par le moine Jajang. Durant son histoire, il fut brûlé et reconstruit en 1307 puis en 1833. Le dernier incendie eut lieu le 4 janvier 1951 pendant la guerre de Corée lorsque l'armée coréenne causa la destruction de 21 bâtiments parce qu'ils servaient de refuge aux rebelles. La reconstruction commença en 1964. Det grundades som en enkel hydda i Silla år 643 av munken Jajang, men förföll snabbt. Fler eremithyddor byggdes och efterhand fick Woljeongsa status som ett riktigt tempel. Det har brunnit ner vid flera tillfällen och under Koreakriget förstördes ett tiotal av byggnaderna. Tempelkomplexet återuppbyggdes med början år 1964 och består idag av 60 tempel, 22 pagoder och åtta kloster. Den 15,2 meter höga niovåningspagoden kulturskyddades år 1962. (sv)
