| - Der Waterberg (Nord-Sotho: Thaba Meetse) ist ein Bergmassiv im Norden der Provinz Limpopo in Südafrika. Das Massiv erstreckt sich über etwa 14.500 km², bei einer Durchschnittshöhe von 600 m. Die höchsten Gipfel ragen bis zu 1400 m über den Meeresspiegel auf. Die heute sichtbaren Steilwände, Härtlinge und Inselberge entstanden vor Hunderten von Millionen Jahren durch erosive Kräfte. Modimolle ist die größte Stadt in der Gegend. Weiterhin sind noch Bela-Bela, Mookgophong, , Thabazimbi und Lephalale von Bedeutung. Der Waterberg steht als Biosphärenreservat unter dem Schutz der UNESCO. (de)

- El Waterberg es un macizo montañoso de aproximadamente 654,033 ha en el norte de la provincia de Limpopo, Sudáfrica. La altura promedio de la cordillera es de 600 m con algunos picos que se elevan hasta 2000 m sobre el nivel del mar. La ciudad de Vaalwater se encuentra justo al norte de la cordillera. La extensa formación rocosa fue moldeada por cientos de millones de años de erosión fluvial para producir diversas formas de relieve de acantilados y colinas . El ecosistema se puede caracterizar como un bosque caducifolio seco o Bushveld. Dentro del Waterberg hay hallazgos arqueológicos que datan de la Edad de Piedra, y cerca se encuentran los primeros hallazgos evolutivos relacionados con el origen de los humanos . (es)

Depuis 2001, le Waterberg comprend une réserve de biosphère au sens de l'UNESCO, de 6 540 km2. Son altitude moyenne est de 600 m ; quelques sommets dépassent 1 400 m. Cette vaste formation rocheuse a été façonnée par des centaines de millions d'années d'érosion fluviale qui ont créé divers reliefs escarpés ou en forme de buttes. L'écosystème est celui d'une forêt caduque sèche (bushveld). Le Waterberg a livré des traces archéologiques datant de l'âge de pierre et, à proximité, ont été faites des découvertes relatives aux premiers instants de l'histoire de l'évolution humaine. (fr)
- The Waterberg (Northern Sotho: Thaba Meetse) is a mountainous massif of approximately 654,033 hectare in north Limpopo Province, South Africa. The average height of the mountain range is 600 m with a few peaks rising up to 2000 m above sea level. Vaalwater town is located just north of the mountain range. The extensive rock formation was shaped by hundreds of millions of years of riverine erosion to yield diverse bluff and butte landform. The ecosystem can be characterised as a dry deciduous forest or Bushveld. Within the Waterberg there are archaeological finds dating to the Stone Age, and nearby are early evolutionary finds related to the origin of humans. (en)
- La riserva della biosfera del Waterberg è un'area naturale protetta di circa 4000 km² nel distretto omonimo, nella parte settentrionale della provincia di Limpopo, in Sudafrica. È stata dichiarata riserva della biosfera dall'UNESCO. Nel Waterberg vivono circa 80.000 persone. L'allevamento, un tempo attività economica predominante nella zona, è stato gradualmente abbandonato a partire dalla metà del XX secolo a favore di una rivalutazione del patrimonio ambientale del Waterberg, in cui oggi l'ecoturismo rappresenta un'importante fonte di reddito.
