United Nations Security Council resolution 969, adopted unanimously on 21 December 1994, after recalling resolutions 186 (1964), 831 (1993) and 889 (1993), the Council expressed concern at the lack of progress in the political dispute in Cyprus and extended the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) until 30 June 1995. The secretary-general was requested to report back to the council by 15 June 1995 on developments on the island.

Després de recordar les resolucions 186 (1964), 831 (1993) i 889 (1993), el Consell exprés seva preocupació per la falta de progrés en la disputa política a Xipre i va prorrogar el mandat de la Força de les Nacions Unides pel Manteniment de la Pau a Xipre (UNFICYP) fins al 30 de juny de 1995. Es va demanar al Secretari General que informés al Consell abans del 15 de juny de 1995 sobre els esdeveniments a l'illa. (ca)

| - قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة رقم 969، المتخذ بالإجماع في 21 كانون الأول / ديسمبر 1994، بعد التذكير بالقرارات 186 (1964)، 831 (1993) و889 (1993)، عبر المجلس عن قلقه إزاء عدم إحراز تقدم في النزاع السياسي في قبرص ومدد ولاية قوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص حتى 30 يونيو 1995. وفي معرض استعراضه لتقرير الأمين العام بطرس بطرس غالي، دعا المجلس السلطات العسكرية في كلا الجانبين إلى ضمان عدم وقوع أي حوادث على طول المنطقة العازلة والتعاون مع قوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بتوسيع اتفاقية عدم التشغيل لعام 1989 لتغطية جميع مناطق المنطقة العازلة. وطُلب من الأمين العام أن يبقي هيكل قوة حفظ السلام وقوامها قيد الاستعراض بهدف إعادة هيكلتها إذا لزم الأمر. تم حث جميع الأطراف المعنية على الالتزام بخفض القوات الأجنبية في قبرص وخفض الإنفاق الدفاعي، كخطوة أولى نحو انسحاب القوات غير القبرصية على النحو المقترح في "مجموعة الأفكار". كما طلب القرار من الأطراف، وفقًا للقرار 839 (1993)، الدخول في مناقشات بهدف حظر الذخيرة الحية وإطلاق النار من الأسلحة داخل نطاق المنطقة العازلة. تم حث قادة قبرص وشمال قبرص على تعزيز التسامح والمصالحة بين الطائفتين، ورحب بجهود الأمين العام للحفاظ على الاتصالات مع كلا الزعيمين. وطُلب من الأمين العام أن يقدم تقريراً إلى المجلس بحلول 15 حزيران / يونيو 1995 بشأن التطورات في الجزيرة. Revisant l'informe del Secretari General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, el Consell va cridar a les autoritats militars de les dues parts per assegurar que no es produeixin incidents al llarg de la Línia Verda i a cooperar amb la UNFICYP, especialment pel que fa a l'ampliació de l'acord de 1989 per cobrir tots els àmbits de la zona d'amortiment. Es va demanar al Secretari General que seguís examinant l'estructura i la força de la Força de Manteniment de la Pau amb vista a reestructurar-la si fos necessari. Es va instar a totes les parts implicades a comprometre's a una reducció de les tropes estrangeres a Xipre i a reduir les despeses de defensa, com un primer pas cap a la retirada de les forces no xipriotes proposada en el "Conjunt d'idees". - United Nations Security Council resolution 969, adopted unanimously on 21 December 1994, after recalling resolutions 186 (1964), 831 (1993) and 889 (1993), the Council expressed concern at the lack of progress in the political dispute in Cyprus and extended the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) until 30 June 1995. Reviewing a report by the Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, the Council called on the military authorities on both sides were called upon to ensure that no incidents occurred along the buffer zone and to co-operate with the UNFICYP, especially with regards to extending the 1989 unmanning agreement to cover all areas of the buffer zone. The Secretary-General was requested to keep under review the structure and strength of the peacekeeping force with a view to restructuring it if necessary. All parties concerned were urged to commit themselves to a reduction of foreign troops in Cyprus and reduce defence spending, as a first step towards the withdrawal of non-Cypriot forces as proposed in the "Set of Ideas". The resolution also requested that parties, in accordance with Resolution 839 (1993), to enter discussions with a view to prohibiting live ammunition and firing weapons within the range of the buffer zone. The leaders of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus were urged to promote tolerance and reconciliation amongst the two communities, welcoming the secretary-general's efforts to maintain contacts with both leaders. The secretary-general was requested to report back to the council by 15 June 1995 on developments on the island. (en)
