Others are for example Yüksel Yavuz, Sinan Akkuş, , Thomas Arslan, , , , Neco Çelik, Züli Aladağ, Mennan Yapo, and Özgür Yıldırım. The first Turk in Germany who did a movie was Tevfik Başer (40 m2 Deutschland).

In den 1970er und 1980er Jahren hat das noch kaum zu verortende Kino deutsch-türkischer Themen bis auf wenige Ausnahmen nur problemorientierte Filme „über Migranten“ hervorgebracht und selbst frühe Werke im deutschsprachigen Raum lebender türkischer Filmschaffender sind eher einem „Betroffenheitskino“ zuzuordnen. Erst in den ausgehenden 1990er Jahren setzte vor allem in der Bundesrepublik eine rege und vielfältige Produktion ab diesem Zeitpunkt auch sogenannter deutsch-türkischer Filme ein. Diese stammten vornehmlich von Filmemachern aus der zweiten Generation türkischer Einwanderer, die mit Fatih Akin einen auch international anerkannten deutschen Regisseur hervorgebracht hat. (de)

Le cinéma à thématique germano-turque tout juste naissant des années 1970 et 1980 a entraîné, sauf quelques rares exceptions, une vague de films ayant pour sujet les migrations turques en Allemagne. Et même des œuvres germanophones plus anciennes de réalisateurs turcs encore vivants appartiennent à ce cinéma thématique. Le terme de « cinéma germano-turc », qui désigne la production intense et variée de films d'auteurs turcs en Allemagne, n'est apparu qu'au début des années 1990. Ceux-ci sont issus de la deuxième génération d'immigrés Turcs. Les plus connus de ces metteurs en scène sont : Thomas Arslan, Yilmaz Arslan et en particulier Fatih Akın, qui a acquis une renommée internationale. (fr)
