| - Teodosi d'Alexandria, en llatí Theodosius, en grec antic Θεὸδοσιος, fou un gramàtic grec nadiu d'Alexandria. Va escriure un comentari sobre el τέχνη γραμματική (Tékhne Grammatiké) de Dionís Trax. Se suposa que va viure en temps de Constantí I el Gran. La seva obra principal abans esmentada fou publicada en 1822 sota el títol Theodosii Alexandrini Grammatica. Un epítom de la gran obra d'Herodià en vint llibres sobre prosòdia general, atribuït erròniament a Arcadi d'Antioquia, és probablement l'obra de Teodosi d'Alexandria o d'un gramàtic anomenat Aristòdem. Aquest epítom només inclou 19 dels llibres originals, l'últim va ser obra d'un falsificador del segle xvi, i encara que muntat sense cura, és valuós, ja que conserva l'ordre de l'original i per tant ofereix una base fiable per a la seva reconstrucció. N. B.: Théodose d'Alexandrie le Grammairien ne doit pas être confondu avec les patriarches d'Alexandrie ayant porté ce nom, notamment Théodose d'Alexandrie, patriarche monophysite du VIe siècle.

La obra principal de Teodosio fue el Κανόνες εἰσαγωγικοί περὶ κλίσεως ὀνομάτων καὶ ῤημάτων (Introducción a las reglas de la declinación del sustantivo y del verbo), esencialmente un epítome del Tékhne Grammatiké de Dionisio de Tracia, de donde copió mecánicamente los paradigmas de inflexión verbo y sustantivo. Esta obra, y lo que es más importante, el escolio de (Georgius Choeroboscus), constituyó la principal fuente primaria para los gramáticos posteriores, hasta el Renacimiento. Teodosio también fue conocido como el autor de Περὶ ὅρου y otras obras gramaticales. publicó la Κανόνες, ampliado por adiciones posteriores de gramáticos bizantinos, bajo el título de Theodosii Alexandrini Grammatica (Leipzig, 1822). El prefacio se publicó antes en el Philemonis grammatici quae supersunt de Osann (Berlín, 1821). Una parte de la obra, titulada Theodosii Grammatici Alex. Canones de Declinatione Nominum et Conjugatione Verborum, fue incluida por August Immanuel Bekker en el tercer volumen de su Anecdota Graeca (Vol. 3, Berlín, 1821). (es)

Theodosius' main work were the Κανόνες εἰσαγωγικοί περὶ κλίσεως ὀνομάτων καὶ ῤημάτων (Introduction to The Rules of Noun and Verb Declension), essentially an epitome of Dionysius Thrax's Art of Grammar, from where he mechanically copied the verb and noun inflectional paradigms. This work, and most importantly the scholia on it by Georgius Choeroboscus, constituted the main primary source for the grammarians later onwards down to the Renaissance. Theodosius was also known as the author of Περὶ ὅρου and other grammatical works. The Κανόνες, amplified by the additions of later Byzantine grammarians, were published by Karl Wilhelm Göttling under the title of Theodosii Alexandrini Grammatica (Leipzig, 1822), the Preface having been published before in Osann's Philemonis grammatici quae supersunt (Berlin, 1821), and a portion of this work, entitled Theodosii Grammatici Alex. Canones de Declinatione Nominum et Conjugatione Verborum, was included by August Immanuel Bekker in the third volume of his Anecdota Graeca (Vol. 3, Berlin, 1821). (en)
