The Prince of Rogues (German: Schinderhannes) is a 1928 German silent drama film directed by Curtis Bernhardt and starring Hans Stüwe, Lissy Arna and Albert Steinrück. It was shot at the Johannisthal Studios in Berlin. The film's art direction was by Heinrich Richter. The story depicts the life of the 18th century outlaw Schinderhannes. It is based on a 1927 play Schinderhannes by Carl Zuckmayer.

Il regista avrebbe intrapreso in seguito una carriera di successo a Hollywood con il nome di Curtis Bernhardt. Il film prende spunto dalla storia di Johannes Bückler (1779-1803), un noto brigante che, tra fine Settecento e i primissimi anni dell'Ottocento, agì con la sua banda nella zona del Reno, al confine con la Francia. Il titolo si riferisce al suo soprannome, Schinderhannes (Scorticatore), ovvero Hannes (da Johannes) e schinden (scorticare). (it)
