Tancrède Dumas (1830–1905) was an Italian photographer of French descent who was active in the Near East. He learned photography in Florence and opened a studio in Beirut in 1860. He was active during the period 1860-1890 and worked in albumen prints. Dumas travelled with the Grand Duke Mecklenburg-Schwerin, inspiring him to use the title "Photographer to the Imperial and Royal Court of Prussia" on his return to Lebanon.

- Tancrède Dumas (1830-1905) est un photographe italien qui fut actif au Proche-Orient et en Afrique du Nord entre les années 1860 et les années 1890. D'origine française, ses parents, fervents bonapartistes, avaient quitté la France peu après la chute du Premier Empire et s'étaient installés à Milan où Tancrède commencera sa vie professionnelle comme banquier. Plus tard, il apprendra le métier de photographe chez les frères Alinari à Florence, et ouvrira dans les années 1860 son propre studio photographique à Beyrouth, en Syrie ottomane. (fr)
