- Sufentanil, sold under the brand names Dsuvia and Sufenta, is a synthetic opioid analgesic drug approximately 5 to 10 times as potent as its parent drug, fentanyl, and 500 times as potent as morphine. Structurally, sufentanil differs from fentanyl through the addition of a methoxymethyl group on the piperidine ring (which increases potency but is believed to reduce duration of action), and the replacement of the phenyl ring by thiophene. - Le sufentanil est un opioïde liposoluble utilisé en anesthésie et dans les services de réanimation pour obtenir une analgésie profonde. Les risques de l'utilisation sont ceux des morphiniques en général : diminution de la fréquence respiratoire, puis apnée, qu'il faut prendre en charge en pratiquant une ventilation artificielle. Le sufentanil potentialise les autres médicaments de l'anesthésie, et leurs effets indésirables (notamment la chute de pression artérielle). L'effet du sufentanil peut être antagonisé par la naloxone. - Sufentanil, summaformel C22H30N2O2S, är ett smärtstillande preparat som tillhör gruppen opioider. Sufentanil blev syntetiserat vid Janssen Pharmaceutica 1974. Preparatet är ungefär 5 till 10 gånger mer potent än fentanyl och används främst på sjukhus vid svåra smärttillstånd där läkare kan övervaka patienten då preparatet kan orsaka andningsdepression vid för höga doser. Sufentanilplåster är för närvarande under forskning för att kunna användas vid kronisk smärta. Detta har fördelen över fentanylplåster att man bara behöver applicera plåstret en gång per vecka. (sv)
