A students' representative council, also known as a students' administrative council, represents student interests in the government of a university, school or other educational institution. Generally the SRC forms part of a broader students' association, which may include other functions such as societies, entertainments (in the form of a students' union) and sports (in the form of a sports' union). They are most commonly found in Scottish universities.

has abstract	Badan eksekutif mahasiswa (disingkat BEM) adalah organisasi mahasiswa intra kampus yang merupakan lembaga eksekutif di tingkat pendidikan tinggi yang dipimpin oleh seorang Presiden Mahasiswa atau Ketua BEM. Dalam melaksanakan program-programnya, umumnya BEM memiliki beberapa kementerian dan departemen atau bidang. Berbeda dengan himpunan mahasiswa di setiap jurusan, cakupan atau ruang lingkup Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa bisa lebih luas mencakup satu fakultas atau satu perguruan tinggi. Dalam hal ini Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa mengadaptasi eksekutif dalam pemerintahan yang bertanggung jawab untuk menerapkan hukum atau kebijakan lainnya yang berlaku pada suatu fakultas ataupun pada suatu perguruan tinggi. Organisasi mahasiswa intra kampus selain BEM, adalah senat mahasiswa, unit kegiatan mahasiswa, dan himpunan mahasiswa jurusan. Ada atau tidaknya masing-masing, bergantung pada dinamika mahasiswa di setiap kampus. Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Merupakan versi dari universitas untuk penerapan kepemerintahan, yang dimana ada Tingkat pusat (Bem Universitas) yang dipimpin oleh Presiden mahasiswa dan bekerja bersama kementrian, dibawahnya ada TIngkat Fakultas yang dipimpin oleh Gubernur, lalu dibawah Bem Fakultas ada HMPS/HMJ yang kewenangannya di tingkat progdi / jurusan. Semua organisasi Mahasiswa berada di bawah kewenangan BEM Universitas, hal ini berarti juga selain yang sudah disebutkan diatas juga berupa organisasi mahasiswa UKM maupun Organisasi Daerah.
