The small seal script (Chinese: 小篆; pinyin: xiǎozhuàn), or Qin script (秦篆, Qínzhuàn), is an archaic form of Chinese calligraphy. It was standardized and promulgated as a national standard by the government of Qin Shi Huang, the founder of the Chinese Qin dynasty.

Cesarstwa Chińskiego. Używane było przez ponad dwa wieki do schyłku Zachodniej Dynastii Han (8 r. n.e.), kiedy zastąpiono je tzw. pismem kancelaryjnym (隶书, lìshū). Nazwa pisma małopieczęciowego wywodzi się od pieczęci urzędowych, które w cesarstwie były szeroko stosowaną formą autoryzacji i zabezpieczania korespondencji urzędowej. (pl) 小篆，又稱秦篆，作為秦始皇制定推行的“一法度衡石丈尺，車同軌，書同文字”政策的一部分，以秦國本國的篆文為基礎，增損後代替了原先山東六國所使用的版本，由此統一了大篆這一字體的書寫形式。根據考古所得，可知遲至從戰國中後期，社會上流行著大篆和隸書兩種功能和性質不同的字體──大篆主要用於經典書籍及金石銘文；而隸書主要用於官府的政令及日常的書信。因此，小篆是將大篆的各種寫法統一了的結果，它和隸書同時間流行於世。兩漢時的小篆字形趨於方直，筆法稍摻隸意，說明隸和篆兩種書體有相融合的趨勢。隸書後來在更大的範圍內流行與使用，於此或可見一端。小篆本身，由於其字體本身的優美，被後世傳承下來，並被歷代的書法家所青睞。 (zh) La escritura de sello pequeño ( chino : 小篆, xiǎozhuàn ), anteriormente romanizado como Hsiao-chuan y también conocido como escritura de sello estándar, sigilar menor o sello Qin (秦篆, Qínzhuàn ), es una forma arcaica de caligrafía china. Fue estandarizada y promulgada como estándar nacional por Li Si, primer ministro de Shi Huangdi, el primer emperador de Qin. (es) Le petit style sigillaire ou style petit sceau (chinois : 小篆 ; pinyin : Xiǎozhuàn) est un style de caractères chinois unifiés entrepris sous le règne de Qín Shǐ Huáng (秦始皇), en 221 av. J.-C.. Celui-ci avait pour principe : 《书同文，车同轨》 que l'on pourrait traduire par « Les livres de même écriture mènent à la même voie ». Il mit également en place une politique visant à unifier le système d'unités. Antes da Dinastia Qin conquistar as outras regiões do que viria a ser a China, os caracteres chineses, assim como unidades monetárias, leis, medidas e pesos, variavam conforme a região. Com a unificação da China sob o governo de Qin Shi Huang, surge a necessidade da unificação e sistematização destes. No caso dos caracteres, aqueles que fossem diferentes dos da região de Qin foram descartados, e o modelo de Li Si do xiaozhuan tornou-se o padrão. (pt)
