Simssee is a lake in the Alpine foothills, Bavaria, Germany. At an elevation of 470.1 metres, its surface area is 6.5 km² making it the largest lake in the Rosenheim district. The maximum depth of the lake is 22.5 m. It drains into the river Sims. The retention period of the Simssee is about one and a half years and its catchment area covers 59.51 km². It is the last remain of Lake Rosenheim, which stretched over the area at the end of the Würm glaciation.

Die Erneuerungszeit des Simssees beträgt rund anderthalb Jahre. Sein Einzugsgebiet umfasst 59,51 km². Der nördliche Teil des Sees gehört zur Gemeinde Bad Endorf. Im Südwesten grenzen die Ortsteile Simssee und Baierbach der Gemeinde Stephanskirchen an den See, im Süden grenzen die Ortsteile Ecking und Pietzing der Gemeinde Riedering an das Ostufer. Im Nordwesten liegt Prutting, im Norden Söchtenau. Der Simssee liegt eingebettet in eine sanfte Hügellandschaft mit zum großen Teil unberührten Schilf- und Uferzonen. Die Umrundung des Sees kann zu Fuß oder mit dem Rad erfolgen (ca. 20 km). Von Baierbach führt ein gut ausgebauter Weg durch Moor- und Schilfzonen nach Ecking. Neben einem Campingplatz bieten drei zum Teil unentgeltlich zugängliche Badezonen sowie Bootsanlegestellen für Segler Erholungsmöglichkeiten. (de)

Taki sam był stan makrofitów z fitobentosem, podczas gdy stan fitoplanktonu był dobry. Stan chemiczny wód był zły. Za główne zagrożenia dla jakości wód uznaje się rozproszone źródła zanieczyszczeń prowadzące do eutrofizacji. W 2018 na Simssee funkcjonowało 5 kąpielisk wyznaczonych zgodnie z przepisami . Stan wody we wszystkich z nich oceniono wówczas jako doskonały. Ocenę „dobra lub dostateczna” kilka razy nadawano przed rokiem 2010, a w 1992 i 2002 na jednym z nich jakość wody oceniono jako niedostateczną. Z jeziora wypływa rzeka , dopływ Innu. (pl)
