Shewa Robit (Amharic: ሸዋ ሮቢት)also known as Robi, Shah Robit, Shoa Robit or Robit is a town in north-central Ethiopia. Located in the Semien Shewa Zone of the Amhara Region, this town has a longitude and latitude of 10°00′N 39°54′E / 10.000°N 39.900°E with an elevation of 1280 meters above sea level. Shewa Robit holds its market on Tuesdays. Ethiopia's largest prison is in this town.

L'hôtel que nous avons visité était fait de boue et de paille sur une charpente en bois, des murs stuqués ou peints, un toit en tôle ondulée. Les portes étaient petites et tordues, mais il y avait de l'électricité, un réfrigérateur et une douche. Les enfants et les poulets erraient partout. Si ce n'était pour les gens, cela aurait pu être l'Inde ou l'Égypte ou la Colombie ou la Bolivie ».
