Salome is the title of two oil on wood paintings by the German artist Franz Stuck, both created in 1906. They depict Salome, daughter of Herod II and Herodias, an historical and biblical figure, dancing with joy as the head of John the Baptist is brought to her by a servant. Stuck was inspired, among other things, by the contemporary play by Oscar Wilde, the focus of which is Salome as a femme fatale.

Inspiriert wurde Franz von Stuck unter anderem durch ein Schauspiel Oscar Wildes, in dessen Zentrum die Salome als „Femme fatale“ steht. Stuck malte die Salome in einem kleinen Vollporträt sowie in einem größeren Dreiviertelporträt. Ersteres hat die Maße 45,7 × 24,7 cm und befand sich von 1953 bis 1991 in der Galerie Neue Meister in Dresden. Das Werk wurde 1991 rückübereignet. Das zweite mit 114,5 × 92 cm befindet sich im Besitz der Städtischen Galerie im Lenbachhaus in München und ist dort Teil der Dauerausstellung. (de)

El segundo con 115,5 × 62,5 cm es propiedad de la Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus en Múnich y forma parte de la exposición permanente allí. (es)
