- Le Sadler's Wells Theatre est un théâtre fondé à Londres (Islington) en 1683 par Richard Sadler. Après avoir été « Musick House » et lieu de plaisance des Londoniens, le théâtre accueille toutes sortes de spectacles jusqu'à sa fermeture en 1915. Reconstruit et rouvert en 1931, il héberge le Vic-Wells Ballet. En 1946 la compagnie, rebaptisée Sadler's Wells Ballet, s'installe à Covent Garden, laissant un groupe de danseurs s'y constituer sous le nom de Sadler's Wells Opera Ballet. - Sadler's Wells Theatre is a performing arts venue in Clerkenwell, London, England located on Rosebery Avenue next to New River Head. The present-day theatre is the sixth on the site since 1683. It consists of two performance spaces: a 1,500-seat main auditorium and the Lilian Baylis Studio, with extensive rehearsal rooms and technical facilities also housed within the site. Sadler's Wells is renowned as one of the world's leading dance venues. As well as a stage for visiting companies, the theatre is also a producing house, with a number of associated artists and companies that produce original works for the theatre. Sadler's Wells is also responsible for the management of the Peacock Theatre in the West End, during times not used by the London School of Economics. (en)

Sadler's Wells è rinomato come uno dei locali per la danza più importanti del mondo. Così come è un palcoscenico per le compagnie in visita, il teatro è anche una casa di produzione, con un certo numero di artisti e compagnie associati che producono opere originali per il teatro.
