Ungeachtet dessen sind beide Begriffe nicht an die Konvention von binären Geschlechtern oder Heterosexualität gebunden. Dabei sind die im Werk gezeigten Situationen vollkommen fiktiv, beispielsweise kann der Aggressor auch ein Ungeheuer oder etwas anderes nicht-menschliches sein.
