- The Roman–Volscian wars were a series of wars fought between the Roman Republic and the Volsci, an ancient Italic people. Volscian migration into southern Latium led to conflict with that region's old inhabitants, the Latins under leadership of Rome, the region's dominant city-state. By the late 5th century BC, the Volsci were increasingly on the defensive and by the end of the Samnite Wars had been incorporated into the Roman Republic. The ancient historians devoted considerable space to Volscian wars in their accounts of the early Roman Republic, but the historical accuracy of much of this material has been questioned by modern historians. - Le guerre romano-volsche sono una serie di conflitti tra la Repubblica Romana ed il popolo dei Volsci nel IV sec. a.C. La migrazione dei popoli Volsci ed Equi del V sec. a.C. verso il sud del Latium fa entrare in conflitto i Latini con la città-stato dominante Roma. Alla fine del V sec. a.C. i Volsci si trovano a doversi difendere da Roma, fino ad essere sottomessi nel corso del IV sec. a.C. e del tutto assorbiti nella Repubblica Romana al termine delle guerre sannitiche. Gli storici antichi, ed in particolare Tito Livio, raccontano la gran parte degli avvenimenti militari del V e IV sec a.C. ma la loro esattezza è oggi rimessa in discussione dalla storiografia moderna. - Les guerres romano-volsques de la première moitié du IVe siècle av. J.-C. sont une série de conflits opposant la République romaine aux Volsques, un ancien peuple italique. La migration des Volsques et des Èques au cours du Ve siècle av. J.-C. vers le sud du Latium provoque des conflits avec les habitants de cette région, les Latins et Rome, la cité-État dominante de la région. À la fin du Ve siècle av. J.-C., les Volsques sont de plus sur la défensive. Ils sont soumis par Rome tout au long du IVe siècle av. J.-C. et définitivement incorporés dans la République romaine à la fin des guerres samnites.
