Rhenopyrgus viviani is an extinct species of echinoderms from the Silurian period, about 435 million years ago. It was thought that the species were able to bury itself "in sediment and hide away". Dr. Tim Ewin, who researched Rhenopyrgus viviani, said that they were "bottom-dwelling 'mud-stickers' that stood erect".
