Actif depuis plus de vingt ans, il s'est rendu célèbre pour avoir joué avec de nombreux groupes, parmi lesquels on peut citer notamment Scratch Acid, Rapeman, Ministry, Big Boys, Helios Creed, The Didjits, Lard et Tad. Il a également remplacé Jason Schwartzman dans le cadre d'une tournée après son départ de Phantom Planet. Il a participé aux diverses reformations de Scratch Acid en 2006. Entre estas bandas se incluyen Scratch Acid, Rapeman, Ministry, , , , , Tad y los Butthole Surfers. También tocaba en la banda de jazz , con la que grabó un álbum que nunca fue lanzado. Cuando el baterista de Phantom Planet, Jason Schwartzman, dejó la banda justo antes de una gira, la banda buscó a Washam para rellenar el puesto de batería, sin embargo el tour nunca se materializó. - Rey Washam (born Reynolds Washam, March 14, 1961, in Austin, Texas) is a Grammy nominated drummer who has been performing for more than 35 years. He has collaborated with many bands, the most notable of which include: Scratch Acid, Rapeman, Ministry, the Big Boys, Helios Creed, the Didjits, Lard, and Tad and Butthole Surfers offshoot Daddy Longhead. When Jason Schwartzman of Phantom Planet left that band, Washam was hired to fill in on drums for a tour which never materialized. Washam also played jazz with a band, Euripides Pants, that recorded an unreleased album. (en)
