She received the 36th aeroplane pilot's licence issued by the Aeroclub de France, the world's first organization to issue pilot licences. At the time, pilot licences were only required for pilots operating aircraft for commercial purposes. (en)

Avida je gloro, ŝi elektis la scenejan nomon "baronne (baronino) Raymonde de Laroche", kiun ŝi opiniis pli brila kaj prestiĝa por teatro. Kiam aperis la unuaj aviadiloj, ŝi decidis flugi kaj obstinis en la afero. Ŝi komencis sub la gvidado de la franca pioniro de aviado en:Charles Voisin. La 22-an de oktobro 1909, ŝi sukcesis 300-metran flugon en Châlons-sur-Marne (nun Châlons-en-Champagne) kaj 7-kilometran la sekvantan tagon. (eo)

Hon var ursprungligen skådespelerska och antog då den självpåhittade "titeln" Baronessan Raymonde de LaRoche. 1919 satte hon höjdrekord för kvinnliga flygare då hon med sitt plan flög på 15.700 fot. Sommaren 1919 anmälde hon sig vid flygfältet LeCrotoy för att försöka bli världens första kvinnliga testpilot. Planet havererade då det gick in för landning och de LaRoche omkom. Vid flygplatsen Le Bourget utanför Paris finns en staty av henne. (sv)
