The RWI – Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung, Essen (RWI Essen) is an independent economic research institute and think tank in Essen, Germany. Schmidt, a German economist and professor for economic policy and applied econometrics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
