The Qinghai–Tibet War or the Tsinghai–Tibet War was a conflict that took place during the Sino-Tibetan War. A rebellion led by the Dalai Lama with British support wanted to expand the original conflict taking place between the Tibetan Army and Liu Wenhui (Sichuan clique) in Xikang, to attack Qinghai, a region northeast of Tibet. Using a dispute over a monastery in Yushu in Qinghai as an excuse in 1932, the Tibetan army attacked. Qinghai Muslim General Ma Bufang overran the Tibetan armies and recaptured several counties in Xikang province. Shiqu, Dege and other counties were seized from the Tibetans. Elle eut pour objectif le contrôle de la province du Qinghai, également appelée « Amdo », et opposa le Tibet indépendant de facto, dirigé par le 13e dalaï-lama, Thubten Gyatso, à la clique des Ma en la personne de Ma Bufang. Cette guerre marqua la défaite du Tibet, sa perte du contrôle d'une grande partie de l'Amdo à l'exception du Yushu et de la ville de (en). D'autre part, la défaite du Tibet face à la Chine provoqua également la perte définitive du Kham oriental.
