- Das Ozeaneum in Stralsund ist ein zur Stiftung Deutsches Meeresmuseum gehörendes Naturkundemuseum mit dem Schwerpunkt Meer. Parallel zu den Ausstellungen und Aquarien des Haupthauses des Meeresmuseums in der Stralsunder Katharinenkirche werden im Ozeaneum auf der Hafeninsel auf 8.700 m² Ausstellungsfläche fünf Dauerausstellungen gezeigt und in den Aquarien verschiedene Wasser- und Lebenswelten aus Ostsee, Nordsee und Nordatlantik präsentiert. It is a main attraction of the German Oceanographic Museum (Deutsches Meeresmuseum), arguably one of the three largest institutions of its kind in Europe. The Ozeaneum — located at the historical Stralsund harbour on the Baltic coast — opened its doors in July 2008. It displays primarily sea life of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
