- Nothosaurs (order Nothosauroidea) were Triassic marine sauropterygian reptiles that may have lived like seals of today, catching food in water but coming ashore on rocks and beaches. They averaged about 3 metres (10 ft) in length, with a long body and tail. The feet were paddle-like, and are known to have been webbed in life, to help power the animal when swimming. The neck was quite long, and the head was elongated and flattened, and relatively small in relation to the body. The margins of the long jaws were equipped with numerous sharp outward-pointing teeth, indicating a diet of fish and squid. (en)

- Nothosauria zijn een orde van uitgestorven zeereptielen uit het Trias. De orde omvatte voorheen twee onderorden: de Pachypleurosauria, een kleine basale vorm, en de echte Nothosauria. Inmiddels wordt die eerste groep veelal beschouwd als een zustergroep van de tweede, en krijgt eveneens de rang van orde. Binnen de Nothosauria worden veruit de meeste soorten in de familie Nothosauridae geplaatst. Daarnaast is er nog het monotypische geslacht Simosaurus. Ze zijn aan het eind van het Trias uitgestorven en mogelijk verdrongen door de Plesiosauria. (nl)
- 幻龍目（Nothosauroidea）又名孽子龍目，是群三疊紀的海生爬行動物，屬於鰭龍超目，可能類似現代的海豹，在水中捕抓食物而回到岸邊的岩石與海灘。牠們的身長平均約3公尺，有長的身體與尾巴。腳掌已演化成類似槳狀，可在游泳時協助牠們前進。頸部相當長，頭部長而平坦，與身體相比頭部相當小。長頜部的邊緣上有大量、往外突出的銳利牙齒，顯示牠們以魚類為食。 幻龍目由兩個亞目構成。腫肋龍亞目，較小、原始的物種。幻龍亞目，包含：色雷斯龍、鷗龍、幻龍，從腫肋龍類演化而來。 類似幻龍類的爬行動物，可能是更完全海生的蛇頸龍類的祖先，蛇頸龍類在三疊紀末取代幻龍類。

- Nothosaurier (Nothosauria) oder Bastardechsen sind eine Gruppe ausgestorbener diapsider Reptilien (Diapsida) aus der Gruppe der Sauropterygia („Flossenechsen“). Sie kamen während der mittleren und oberen Trias vor, und zwar rund ums heutige Mittelmeer und Süddeutschland in einem Ausläufer der westlichen Tethys und in Süd-China. Es waren Reptilien, die in Flüssen und küstennahen Gebieten lebten und sich auch an Land fortbewegen konnten. Ihre Vorderbeine hatten sich an die aquatische Lebensweise angepasst und wurden stromlinienförmiger, die Hinterbeine sahen dagegen noch wie die Beine eines Landlebewesens aus. Der Schädel war flach und von oben gesehen langgestreckt dreieckig, er erinnert ein wenig an den Schädel eines Krokodils. Die spitzen und ein wenig gekrümmten Zähne im vorderen Bereich (de)
- Notozaury (Nothosauria) – rząd wymarłych gadów morskich z nadrzędu zauropterygów (Sauropterygia). Ich przedstawiciele żyli w okresie triasowym. Pierwotnie do tej grupy zaliczano liczne prymitywne rodzaje wchodzące w skład nadrzędu Sauropterygia (z wyjątkiem plakodontów), jednocześnie zaś uznawano tak definiowane notozaury za przodków plezjozaurów. Jednak tak definiowane notozaury, nie obejmując plezjozaurów, były grupą parafiletyczną, obejmującą przy tym różne dość daleko spokrewnione gatunki. W ostatnich latach podjęto próbę przedefiniowana notozaurów tak, aby stały się grupą monofiletyczną. W tym celu wyłączono z tej grupy rodzaje należące do linii ewolucyjnej prowadzącej do plezjozaurów, m.in. De var relativt små, långhalsade och långsvansade ödlor med en genomsnittslängd på ca 3 meter, vilkas extremiteter var delvis modifierade för liv i vatten, bl. a. med paddelliknande fötter med simhud mellan tårna.
