The National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD) is a three-party coalition (previously five parties) of Gambian opposition political parties. It was officially launched January 2005 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Democratic Action Movement (NDAM), National Reconciliation Party (NRP), People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), People's Progressive Party (PPP), and the United Democratic Party (UDP). The UDP left the coalition during 2006.

Die Gruppierung hoffte bei den Präsidentschaftswahlen am 22. September 2006 und den Parlamentswahlen im Januar 2007 als einzelne Kraft besser gegen Präsident Yahya Jammeh mit seiner regierenden Partei Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) konkurrieren zu können. Im April 2016 gab die Independent Electoral Commission bekannt, dass sie von der Auflösung der NADD in Kenntnis gesetzt worden sei. (de)

Le but de la coalition est, selon le protocole d'entente, « d'en finir avec l'autorité qui se perpétue et d'obtenir l'habilitation du peuple pour qu'il puisse participer au développement durable.» Dans une entrevue avec la BBC, le chef du Parti démocratique unifié (UDP), Ousainou Darboe a dit que le but de la coalition n'était pas tout simplement de forcer le président Yahya Jammeh de son poste, mais aussi d'avoir des politiques capables de changer profondément le système de gouvernement. L'UDP quitta la coalition en 2006. La coalition se présenta à l'élection présidentielle de septembre 2006 et aux législatives du 25 janvier 2007 en tant qu'un seul bloc pour mieux contrer le président Jammeh et son parti, l'Alliance patriotique pour la réorientation et la construction. It was officially launched January 2005 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Democratic Action Movement (NDAM), National Reconciliation Party (NRP), People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), People's Progressive Party (PPP), and the United Democratic Party (UDP). According to the memorandum, "The goal of the alliance is to put an end to self-perpetuating rule, ensure the empowerment of the people so that they can participate in sustainable development." In an interview with the BBC, UDP leader Ousainou Darboe was quoted as saying that the coalition's objective was not simply to remove President Yahya Jammeh from office, but to have concrete policies including far-reaching changes in the country's system of governance. The UDP left the coalition during 2006. The grouping contested the October 2006 presidential and January 2007 national assembly elections as a single entity to better challenge President Jammeh and the ruling Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) party. UDP och NRP hoppade av alliansen under 2006. NADD:s ledare Halifa Sallah deltog i presidentvalet i september 2006. Han kom på tredje plats av kandidaterna med 5,98 % av rösterna. I parlamentsvalet den 25 januari 2007 fick NADD 29 773 röster (11,3 %) och ett mandat i nationalförsamlingen.Sallah uttryckte besvikelse över det klena valresultatet som han tillskrev oppositionens oförmåga att erbjuda en samlad front mot regeringspartiet APRC. NADD har i likhet med de flesta andra oppositionspartierna (men till skillnad från NRP) meddelat att man kommer att bojkotta parlamentsvalet den 29 mars 2012. (sv)
