He became unwell as he approached his 120th year. At his bedside, he summoned His Majestic Holiness Crown of Sufis (Mystics) Khaja Ghareeb Nawaz Ameen-ul-Ummat Ala Hazrat Khawaja Pir Muhammad Zahid Khan, known as Khawaja Pir Khan Sahib (RA), who had already gained spiritual heights, and conferred his "Khilafat" on him. People came to his grave to pray after his death. This eventually evolved into a formal shrine administered by his descendants. (en)
