| - Das Moulin Rouge Hotel ist ein historisch bedeutsames Baudenkmal in Las Vegas, Nevada. Es war nach seiner Eröffnung im Jahr 1955 das erste Hotel und Casino in Las Vegas und auf dem Strip ohne Rassendiskriminierung. Obwohl das Moulin Rouge Hotel bereits fünf Monate nach Eröffnung Insolvenz anmelden musste, fand dort im Jahr 1960 eine historisch bedeutsame Versammlung von Bürgerrechtlern, Verwaltungsbeamten und Geschäftsleuten statt, die sich bis auf wenige Ausnahmen auf ein Ende der Jim-Crow-Gesetze für Las Vegas und den Strip einigte. - The Moulin Rouge Hotel was a hotel and casino located in West Las Vegas that was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Although its peak operation lasted only six months in the second half of 1955, it was the first desegregated hotel casino and was popular with many of the Black entertainers of the time, who would entertain at the other hotels and casinos and stay at the Moulin Rouge. The hotel was named after the Paris nightclub, the Moulin Rouge. (en)
