| - Mitrídates III del Ponto (en griego antiguo, Mιθριδάτης) fue rey del Ponto entre los años 220 a. C. y 184 a. C. Cuarto rey del Ponto, sucedió a su padre Mitrídates II del Ponto. No se conoce nada de estos años, porque en este período, el reino del Ponto desaparece de la historia. Algunos historiadores dudan de la misma existencia de este rey, prescindiendo de él en la dinastía, y alargando el reinado de Mitrídates II desde el año 250 a. C. hasta el 184 a. C. Sin embargo, su existencia es necesaria según la cuenta de Apiano para la indicación de que Mitrídates VI del Ponto fue el octavo rey de la dinastía, y el sexto de este nombre. Mithridates had two sisters: Laodice III, the first wife of the Seleucid King Antiochus III the Great, and Laodice of Pontus. He may have ruled in an uncertain period between 220 BC and 183 BC. Nothing is known of him since the years just cited, because the kingdom of Pontus disappears from history. His same existence is contested by certain historians, even if it is necessary to account for Appian's indication of Mithridates VI of Pontus as the eighth king of the dynasty and the sixth of the name. Die Herrschaft des in den klassischen literarischen Quellen nicht erwähnten Mithridates III. wurde aus einer Bemerkung des Biographen Plutarch und des Historikers Appian über die Zahl der pontischen Könige erschlossen. Die Regierungszeit ist ausschließlich über Münzen überliefert. Es gibt Wissenschaftler, die vermuten, dass er identisch mit Mithridates II. gewesen sei.
