El director del centro, Alejandro Vitaubet dijo: “Esta muestra trata de reconocer la obra de August Sander, una de las mayores figuras internacionales de la fotografía de mitad del siglo XIX y principios del XX que determinó una forma nueva de fotografiar y retratar".​La obra de Sander realiza una muestra de la sociedad de la República de Weimar en la Alemania​ En las imágenes de Sander, Somoroff ha borrado los sujetos dejando solo el fondo.
